Parma beat Atalanta 3-0 as Daffara posts clean sheet

Parma won 3-0 at New Balance Arena. Atalanta had no goals and could not recover once the second half opened. Parma scored late in the first half, then twice more within 17 minutes after the break.

Giovanni Fabbian broke the deadlock in the 41st minute. He headed home from very close range after Vincent Sierro crossed following a corner. Six minutes after the restart, Davide Zappacosta put the ball into his own net to make it 2-0. Simone Lontani sealed it in the 58th with a right footed shot from outside the box into the bottom right corner. Fabbian set that one up.

Giovanni Daffara was the player of the game with a Chirp Rating of 8.9. He made six saves and kept the clean sheet. Nikola Krstovic led Atalanta with six shots, but none beat him. Parma moved to 2-2-6, and Atalanta fell to 3-2-5.

Chirp's Sim had Atalanta at 55% in 10,000 simulations, so this was an upset.
