Bernardeschi penalty lifts Bologna past Monza 2-1

Bologna beat Monza 2-1 at the Renato Dall'Ara. Federico Bernardeschi won it from the spot in the 59th minute, sending his left footed penalty into the bottom right corner. Chirp rated him the player of the game at 7.3 for his goal.

Monza struck first. Gustavo Varela converted a penalty in the 6th minute, also to the bottom right corner, and the visitors led 1-0. Bologna answered in the 33rd. Tommaso Pobega hit a left footed shot from the centre of the box into the bottom left corner after Juan Miranda's cross from a corner. That made it 1-1 at the break.

The second half turned on Bernardeschi's penalty, which put Bologna ahead 2-1. Monza could not find a reply. Bologna moves to 4-2-4. Monza falls to 2-1-7.

Chirp's Sim had Bologna at 48% before the game, so this was close to a coin flip.
