Manchester United vs VfL Wolfsburg

1. 92'

That's it, all over at Old Trafford, and United win thanks to Michael Carrick's second half strike. They weren't at their best by any means but they got away with it.

2. 91'

Evra does well at the back post to ensure Dzeko can't connect with a Ziani cross.

3. 90'

   Two minutes added...

4. 89'

Martins twists and turns on the edge of the box but Ferdinand hacks clear.

5. 88'

What a waste, Wolfsburg stand it up at the far post and though Schafer wins the header United pick it up and bring it away. Fletcher's ball can't find Berbatov though.

6. 87'

Vidic scythes down Dzeko 30 yards out. Free kick. He's lucky not to get another yellow there.

7. 86'

Rooney lofts a beautiful ball for Berbatov, who nods into Anderson's path but his touch is heavy and Benaglio is out to claim.

8. 85'

Josue should have done better with that chance. He got to the edge of the box but dragged his shot wide of the post.

9. 84'

Schafer whacks a volley well over the bar.

10. 83'

Let's see what Oba can do. He scored last time he was here, when Newcastle drew 1-1 at the start of last season.

11. 81'

Changes: Fletcher on for Valencia and Martins comes on for Grafite.

12. 80'

Grafite nutmegs Ferdinand and tries to get round him but the defender blocks his path. Inexplicably, United get the free kick!

13. 79'

That was a tidy finish because Giggs was quite close to Carrick when he laid the ball off.

14. 78'

Intricate work inside the area as Berbatov held fire then slid in Giggs, he touched off to Carrick who side foots into the far corner from 17 yards out.

15. 78'

    GOAL! Carrick!

16. 77'

Just as I say that Berba slides in Giggs and though Rooney dives at his cross he can't connect.

17. 76'

Ziani pulls down Evra. The game is drifting a little at present..

18. 74'

Get in. Marlon Harewood brings Newcastle level.

19. 73'

Embarrassment for Rooney as he falls over the ball.

20. 72'

Wolfsburg change: Hasebe comes off and Ziani comes on.

21. 71'

Good delivery from Valencia after a sublime pass from Carrick but Schafer gets up to nod clear.

22. 69'

Its all coming through Rooney and Giggs fior United. Berbatov has disappeared somewhat.

23. 68'

Rooney does well to hold of Josue but his shot is partially blocked by Madlung and Benaglio catches comfortably.

24. 67'

Giggs gets carried away and has a crack from 35 yards. A poor effort by his standards.

25. 65'

Ronaldo has scored twice for Madrid against Marseille by the way. They lead 3-0.
