   MAN UTD 2-0 SPURS. United join Aston Villa in the semis with an efficient performance. Two great strikes from Darron Gibson were enough for Sir Alex Ferguson's side, who have not yet conceded a goal in the Carling Cup this season. Spurs will be disappointed, they were unlucky in the first half but offered little in the second. At least Harry Redknapp's side can focus on the league now.

   Good work from United around the edge. Macheda shows some neat touches. Park floats it to Welbeck who knocks it back to the Italian. Macheda strikes it low but it's in the side netting.
