Eight minutes for Stoke to rescue this game but in truth, they don't deserve to. Manchester City have been by far the better side, and the more ambitious too.

Adam Johnson does superbly to turn Wilkinson inside out and drive into the box. His cut-back falls to Silva, who sees his flicked effort blocked.

I'm not sure you could ever say that wages in excess of £200,000 a week are justified, but Man City's accountants will happily sign Yaya Toure's cheque this month.
