   Liverpool came with a game plan and despite more than a couple of scares it worked. A great first half goal and getting men behind the ball frustrated Chelsea on a night when they had possession, chances and the impetus but crucially no end product. Man of the match for me was the much maligned Heskey. Worked tirelessly alone up front and consistently got the better of Terry to offer a way out of pressure for the visitors. Cracking cross to set up Cheyro's goal as well.

   Same pair tangle again in the box and this time the appeal looks a little better founded but nothing is awarded by the referee once more

   More handbags as Diouf squares up to Mutu who had accused him of play acting minutes before. After consulting with his linesman the referee takes action and the result is a second yellow for Diouf and he is off.

   Terry accidentally catches Diouf (very slightly) in the face with a boot as the two slide off the pitch. The Senegal star is acting as if he has been slapped when in truth Terry's foot brushed the top of his head
