Arsenal vs Everton

Arsenal reclaim top spot and Everton drop below city rivals Liverpool, who beat Leeds United 3-1 at Anfield earlier today.

Everton gave it a good go at Highbury but Arsenal came out 2-1 winners and move two points clear of Manchester United at the top of the Premiership.

Gravesen gets caught in possession as Everton look to hit another long-ball towards Ferguson and his error proves costly as the ref blows for full-time.

Gravesen hoists the ball towards Ferguson. This time the big striker is penalised and the Arsenal defence breathe again.

Parlour brings the ball out for Arsenal and heads directly for the corner to run down the clock.

...Ferguson shoots as he falls to ground and Cygan blocks the ball clear.

Yobo hoofs a long-ball into the box. Ferguson gets the flick on and Campbell chests the ball back into the striker's path.....

Rooney takes a poor touch which allows Vieira and Gilberto to rush in and hack the ball away for the Gunners.

Everton's attacking threat has diminished and it's Arsenal asking all the questions now.

Arsenal make another change. Bergkamp goes off and Toure takes his place.

...the keeper comes of his line to narrow a tight angle and Ljungberg blasts his shot over the bar.

Henry takes possession in the box and waits for support. Ljungberg arrives at pace and flicks the ball over the defence and collects his own pass with only Wright to beat....

Ljungberg races down the left flank. He makes space for the cross but none of his teammates have managed to catch up with the play.

Campbell battles with sol Campbell on the edge of the box. Cygan joins in and bundles the striker off the ball. No foul says the ref and Arsenal break.

Arsenal can't find a way through the Everton defence and Gilberto decides to take on a shot from about eight miles out......he doesn't score.

Yobo Launches a long throw inot the box for Ferguson. The big striker flicks it on and Sol Campbell out jumps Rooney to head clear.

Everton make another change and Ferguson comes on the replace Watson.

Gemmil plays a poor pass to Yobo. The defender can't keep the ball in play and Arsenal win a corner deep in the Toffee's half.

Wright pumps a high ball towards Campbell. Cygan wins the header. If Everton want to employ those tactics maybe Ferguson should be on the pitch.

Ljungberg looks to skin Yobo but the defender recovers to make an important tackle on the touchline.

Ljunberg chips a ball over the top and sends Henry racing inot the corner. The striker has no support and plays the ball backwards. Arsenal settle for possession.

Everton mkae a chnge. Li Tie, who has been booked, is replaced by Gemmill.

Lauren shields the ball as it runs out for a corner. Rooney is having none of it but in his eagerness to win the ball he sends Lauren sprawling.

The Gunners slow the pace of the game and pass the ball around the back four. Then burst forward as Henry takes atumble under the challeneg of Weir, the last defender, but no foul says the ref.

Bergkamp receives the ball, spins his defender and slips the ball through to Henry. The pass is slightly too heavy and Wright rushes off his line to hoof the ball clear.
